Welcome to Goring Tennis Club’s 40th Anniversary Website

The Year 2008  was our 40th Anniversary as a Tennis Club.

This Anniversary was celebrated in a variety of ways, headed by the anniversary working group comprising of:
Mike C, Jan B, Sue T, Sally P and Phil R.

During the year 2008, we developed this anniversary website in which we progressively collected information about our history. This website will now become an archive of that historical information and a record of the various anniversary activities.

If you have anything to add; photographs, reminiscences etc, then please please provide them to a committee member.

Club tops with an anniversary badge were made available and are being worn by many members. 

Various Functions throughout the year focused on aspects of the anniversary and our history. These functions included the Anniversary Dinner Dance, the special Birthday Party  and The Quiz

On the day of the Club Championship finals there was  parade of past Championship Winners.

The Updates page and the What's New are now historic record.

Our thanks to Jamie B for designing the Anniversary Logo, as shown at the top of this page. This logo was used as a theme throughout the anniversary year.

Publication Policy

This Anniversary Website conforms to the same Publication Policy as the main Club Website, with the exceptions stated below.

As much of the information on this 40th Anniversary website is historical, Surnames as well as First Names may have been used for information earlier than 2005 AD.

In particular, the Club Honours List of past club champions has been published with Surnames including the recent years. On the same basis, the Parade of Champions page also includes the same surnames.
