This is Upper Basildon Tennis Club today.
Upper Basildon, not to be confused with Basildon in Essex, is a picturesque village situated some 130 metres high on the downs about a mile from the Thames as it moves on down stream from the Goring Gap. The Upper Basildon Tennis Club is situated in open countryside as you enter the village from the North.
Without their kind support our Tennis Club may never have come into being. In the absence of regular playing facilities where they could play together as a group, the founding members may well have dispersed to other clubs.
