Club Finals Day and the Parade of Champions

The Club Finals Day on Saturday, 12th July 2008, followed the normal format, but we also used the opportunity to celebrate our 40th Anniversary as a club.

It was also the 34th Anniversary of the first club championships, which according to our records were first held in 1974, as can be seen in the Club Honours list.

This being the Club’s Fortieth Anniversary year, the celebrations continued with a Parade of Former Champions. Seventeen past Men’s and Ladies’ singles champions came along to support the day. They were each individually introduced to the spectators and presented with a certificate marking the occasion.

A special Champion of Champions, award was also made.
