Our Guest of Honour was Baroness Angela Billingham, President of the Oxfordshire Lawn Tennis Association, seen here in the picture on the left with our chairman, Mike C.

The Baroness spoke of the need for local authorities to be more protective of the facilities and services provided by local clubs such as ours. Indeed she said that she intended to use the Goring Tennis Club as an example of how such club activities promote community and family life when she is to speak in the House of Lords.

She also took on the onerous tasks of cutting the cake and presenting some special awards.
