Welcome to Goring Tennis Club’s New Floodlights

January 1999 saw the opening of the Floodlights. This was a significant step forward for the club, allowing play to continue through the night. Well up until 10:00 am at which point it was agreed that play should cease and the lights be dowsed, so as not to disturb the neighbours.

Initially a token system was introduced, which gave members an hours play for £2. This proved cumbersome to administrate, so free use of the floodlights was provided as part of the membership fee and the flood light controls moved inside the new clubhouse.
