Report and Photgraphs of the Dinner
The 40th Anniversary Dinner was an exciting affair. As they arrived at the reception to the Swan at Streatley, guests were greeted with a glass of pink champagne.
The tables were designated by Year covering the Forty Years and were decorated in theme. The guests themselves were also in theme, all wearing at least something red. Each lady was also presented with red rose.
The Chairman, Mike C, briefly explained some of the history and offered the members' thanks to all those individuals who had contributed to the evening, and singled out our social committee members, Sue T, Jan B and Sallie P for their excellent arrangements and a most beautifully organised event.
He noted that the Committee had invited all past Chairman to both the Dinner Dance and the Birthday Party.
David Mitchell-Baker, our Founder Chairman, Barbara and Brian Baldwin, Graham Johnstone and Robert Brown sent their apologies, but they all indicated that they would attend the Birthday Party on the 27th April 2008.
Mike welcomed four Past Chairmen; Eric M who followed immediately after David Mitchell-Baker in the early 1970s, Paul R, Frank C and Peter H to the dance with their partners.
